Marissa Carter you gave me the shock of my life

So as I was leisurely flicking through Facebook minding my own business well ………… everyone elses as I scrolled I came across a story on RSVP which delcared  that Marissa Carter declared and kinda proved that Micellar Water was BAD BAD BAD for your skin.  OMG FML EKKK all came to mind when i read this.  I have been using it like it is going out of fashion since I discovered it.

In the article it stated how Marissa said Micellar Water was extremely acidic she carried out a pH test to show how acidic micellar waters can be (the pH scales runs from 1 to 14, with the lower the number, the more acidic the substance).

She first tested water and found that it had had a pH of 7.5

Then she tested a micellar water,  and found that it had a pH of 3.5 – which is very acidic for something used on your skin.

For comparison, she also tested a facial cleanser, which proved to have a pH of 5.5.

Marissa told her followers that she now only uses the micellar waters she own to clean her makeup brushes.

“I think they’re worse than baby wipes,” she said.

“They will absolutely dry out your skin – if you’re using something that has a pH of 3.5 and you’re just leaving that on and the drier your skin is, the more prone it is to fine lines and wrinkles.”

When i read the comments underneath the article I was startled – lots of girls were commenting how their skin was really dry and dehydrated and how they had been using micellar water but never thought that would be the reason.  Well my skin had been dehydrated and dry and I too never though it could be Micellar water.

When I read this article I immediately binned my extremely large bottle of Micellar Water.   I do not want dry skin full of fine lines and wrinkles so what have I been using to replace the lovely clean feeling my Micellar Water provided me with.  Well I got myself straight to my local pharmacy and bought the largest bottle of Ultrapure Labs Rose Water Toner and I have been using it ever since.  I had reviewed this product ages ago and kept meaning to get another bottle but it kept slipping my mind.   This product is just lovely and I can’t believe it took something like this to get me off my ass and start using it again.  Its smells really light and fresh I wouldn’t usually be a huge fan of rose water or its smell but this brand is just lovely and very light.  When i use it on my skin it removes all traces of makeup and my skin feels hydrated and soft.  I got a really large bottle and it cost €9.95 so its really good value for money.   They also do a smaller bottle it costs less than €4 I would highly recommend you give this product a try I know you will all love it just as much as I do.

Ultrapure Labs products is stocked in all good pharmacies they also have a website http://www.ultrapurelabs.ie
