Paleo 28 day challenge – Week 1 weigh-in

So I completed Week 1 of my 28 day Paleo Challenge.  It all started out great I was flying that is until I left the gym and went home, now in my defence it was my leaving lunch at work on Friday, my sons communion weekend and I am only human.

I bounced out of the Gym last Tuesday all geared up to smash this challenge, I had my trusty food diary all blank and ready to be filled in with lots of lovely Paleo friendly food choices………. I was determined to achieve great levels of success.

I did train last week but training is the enjoyable side of things for me its diet where I fall.  Training last week was 3 days of Crossfit and 1 day cardio in Citywest Gym.   On a positive note I replaced milk with Almond Milk which I find is nicer than coconut milk in a cup of tea.

Yesterday was my first weigh in.  As part of the weigh in I had to bring my Food Diary, which me being a honest hannah I filled out religiously and didn’t leave anything out.   So I arrived in the gym food diary outstretched and briefly explained to Pearl it was Rhys communion, she was very cool about it and said a few slips ups are okay on such a weekend.  She then weighed me and said we could review the food diary afterwards.  So I hopped on the scales , I was 52.4kg ……………… .1kg I lost .1KG is there even such a weight in existence ?????   Pearl frowned we then sat down to look at what I had ate for the past week.

Day 1 was quite good, handful of nuts for snacks, shepards pie for dinner you know all the good stuff well with the exception of half a bar of Frys chocolate cream (LOVE THEM) , she wasn’t too impressed by the Frys but she flicked onto Day 2 and when she saw Chicken Wings she kinda glanced at me with a strange angry kind of glint in her eye…… I knew that my first 2 days were kind of my good ones so it was only going to go down hill from here, Day 3 included a chinese take away, Day 4 I skipped breakfast ( I NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST)i also ate lots of butter cream icing no cake I just ate the icing ! , DAy 5 Chips and Onion Rings washed down by Jellies and Bulmers light – please see 2 days of food on my food diary, note how I even drew an astonished face beside my Bulmers Light….. this was to highlight how shocked I was at myself.

I won’t lie what happened next wasn’t pretty.  Pearl then went through all of my BAD choices and to teach me a lesson gave me 5 Burpees to do for each bad choice.  I was then given 65 Burpees in total with my food diary placed in front of me as I did them it is safe to say I have learned my lesson.

So what happened to me well tbh I think I got overwhelmed I knew I had committed to something and I bolted and honestly normally I never eat butter icing off a cake or jellies I don’t know what got into me but fear not girls, I am back on the wagon, I already have 2 crossfit classes under my belt this week and as we speak I have some sweet potato in the oven.   I’ve stocked up on Jo Davey Absolute Nutrition treats just in case my sweet tooth gets the better of me. Wish me luck girls and lets hope I’m not a boldie this week.
